  1. Revelation 3:20-21
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

4. (Q) What should be the basis and fundamental thoughts to be presented in the lesson on THE OPEN DOOR?
(A) The Christ Spirit is the door, the truth, the way; not the man for, as the Father knoweth thee, so may ye know the Father through the exemplifying of His attributes in the earth. Little by little, line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little, there a little, for the glory of the Father - not the exaltation of thine own self; for with the exaltation of self - or the gratifying of the desires of flesh - the door closes. [See also 262-28, 16-A.] (262-27)

09/18/1932

16. (Q) Please enlarge on the statement: "Through gratifying of the desires of flesh the door closes." [262-27, Par. 4-A]
(A) As self is a free-willed agent in a material world, with the birthright of the attributes of the sons of God, then gratifying of the earthly desires through the gratifying of the flesh DOES close the door to the spiritual life; for the closing is in self. He is ever ready. The spirit is ever willing; and one needs then to rely upon those promises, not in the passive, but the positive, active manner, that there be kept the door open that He may enter in. (262-28)

10/02/1932

8. (Q) What is meant by the throne of the Father?
(A) The approach to being wholly in the at-oneness with the Father, reached only through the abilities to leave the carnal forces and be one in spirit with the Father. (262-29)

  1. Jesus THE Christ
    1. Jesus/Christ

13. Know that even as the Christ, even as the Jesus - had He withered the hands of those that smote Him because it was in His power, He could NOT be, He would NOT be, thy Christ, thy Savior, thy Lord! (1440-2)

08/16/1935

59. (Q) Why do I have a leaning more towards Christianity than Judaism?
(A) Hast thou not tried both? Hast thou not found that the ESSENCE, the truth, the REAL truth is ONE? Mercy and justice; peace and harmony. For without Moses and his leader Joshua (that was bodily Jesus) there IS no Christ. CHRIST is not a man! JESUS was the man; Christ the messenger; Christ in all ages, Jesus in one, Joshua in another, Melchizedek in another; THESE be those that led Judaism! These be they that came as that child of promise, as to the children of promise; and the promise is in thee, that ye lead as He has given thee, "Feed my sheep." (991-1)

05/29/1943

29. (Q) What is the meaning and significance of the words Jesus and Christ as should be understood and applied by these entities in the present?
(A) Just as indicated. Jesus is the man, - the activity, the mind, the relationships that He bore to others. Yea, He was mindful of friends, He was sociable, He was loving, He was kind, He was gentle. He grew faint, He grew weak - and yet gained that strength that He has promised, in becoming the Christ, by fulfilling and overcoming the world! Ye are made strong, - in body, in mind, in soul and purpose, - by that power in Christ. The POWER, then, is in the Christ. The PATTERN is in Jesus. (2533-7)

45. (Q) Since I am definitely drawn to occult things, how can I free myself from the fear instilled by an early horoscope which stated that in turning to anything psychic I might open myself to the influences of black magic?
(A) No better formula may be given than this: Read Deuteronomy 30th, as being directed to thee BY those influences ye helped establish among a great peoples.

Then study and analyze John 14th, 15th, 16th, and 17th. Not as rote, again, but as a PRACTICAL experience, as may be the experience of any soul that seeks to make that creative force, God, as manifested there, the rule of the life.

No greater psychic lived than Jesus of Nazareth. No greater activity was manifested than by the entity itself in that directing of the household of its own sons; two of which practised black magic and were destroyed. These build that fear. In Him it is eradicated. (2630-1)

7. (Q) What was meant by "As in the first Adam sin entered, so in the last Adam all shall be made alive?"
(A) Adam's [see: Jesus the Christ] entry into the world in the beginning, then, must become the savior OF the world, as it was committed to his care, "Be thou fruitful, multiply, and SUBDUE the earth!" Hence Amilius, Adam, the first Adam, the last Adam, becomes - then - that that is GIVEN the POWER OVER the earth, and - as in each soul the first to be conquered is self - then ALL THINGS, conditions and elements, are subject unto that self! That a universal law, as may be seen in that as may be demonstrated either in gases that destroy one another by becoming elements of the same, or that in the mineral or the animal kingdom as may be found that destroy, or BECOME one WITH the other. Hence, as Adam given - the SON of God - so he MUST become that that would be able to take the world, the earth, back to that source from which it came, and ALL POWER is given in his keeping in the earth, that he has overcome; self, death, hell and the grave even, become subservient unto Him THROUGH the conquering of self in that made flesh; for, as in the beginning was the word, the Word WAS with God, the Word WAS God, the same was IN the beginning. The Word came and dwelt among men, the offspring of self in a material world, and the Word OVERCAME the world - and hence the world BECOMES, then, as the servant of that that overcame the world! (364-7)

36. (Q) Is this situation a karmic condition brought about by me in the past and if so under what circumstances? How can I straighten it out now?
(A) Ye are constantly meeting thyself - but do not think because they are thy problems that no one else has ever had same! Ye stand much in the position as poor Elijah. There are THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS that are ever, and are today, meeting themselves just as thyself!

Karma may be lost in Him, if ye will but seek, if ye will but have Him guide, if ye will but believe! For all power hath been given unto Him. For He ALONE hath overcome!

And doth He forgive, doth He stand by? Only when ye individually or personally put Him from thee, and turn THY FACE away, is He from thee at all!

For His great promise has been in these:

"Be my child - I will be thy God. Though ye wander far afield, though ye may be discouraged, disheartened, if ye call I will HEAR - and will answer speedily."

O Child, put Him in thy heart and try Him! (954-5)

22. (Q) Which elements in particular would be of the greatest value to observe their effects?
(A) Elements as related to that thou hast in hand, see? That thou hast in hand, as has been so classified, so arranged in their influences as to be active with that thou art going to seek in the other kingdoms and in the mineral kingdom also, through the very activities of those things thou wilt experience in the associations of the experimentation! Dost thou hope in thine self to find in two weeks or two months that it took two men, guided by the Father Himself, eighty years to find? [Moses - Aaron - Urim and Thummim?] Thou art indeed wise, my son, but be not wise in thine own conceit. As God has given, it is a DOING thing to accomplish that. As may be had in thine experience to become worth while, thou mayest accomplish in forty days that as required them forty years; for thou hast an Advocate with the Father through the Christ that will guide thee, if thou wilt but put thy trust wholly in Him and not climb up some other way! (440-16)

    1. Christ-Consciousness
10/02/1932

9. (Q) Please explain clearly the difference between the Christ Consciousness, the Christ Spirit.
(A) As the difference might be given in that which makes for the birth in the flower, and the flower. The consciousness of the Spirit and the abilities to apply same are the differences in the Christ Consciousness, the Christ Spirit.

As has been given, the devils believe, the devils know, individuals that may be conscious of an activity. Those with the abilities to call upon, to be so unselfish as to allow the Spirit to operate in self's stead, are aware of the Spirit's activity, while those that may be conscious or aware of a truth may not wholly make it their own without that which has been given, "He that would have life must give life;" for HE thought it not robbery to be equal with the Father, yet of Himself did nothing, "but the Father that worketh in me, through me."

Do thou likewise, that thou may know the consciousness of the Christ Spirit, and experience the operation of that witness, that "My Spirit beareth witness with thy spirit, that the Father may be glorified in you, even as I am glorified in the Father through you. If ye love me keep my commandments, and I will abide with you. I will NOT leave thee comfortless; I will make thee aware of that glory I possessed with the Father before the world was."

In such a manner may individuals become aware of the Christ Consciousness and become one with the operative forces of the Christ Spirit abroad in the earth; for He shall come again, even as ye have seen Him go. THEN shall the Christ Spirit be manifest in the world, even as the Christ Consciousness may make thee aware of that promised as the Comforter in this material world.

Then, the Christ Consciousness is the Holy Spirit, or that as the promise of His presence made aware of His activity in the earth. The Spirit is as the Christ in action with the Spirit of the Father.

10. (Q) Explain and expand fully the thought that the Christ Spirit, not the man, should be the door, the truth, the way.
(A) That which has been given may be used to illustrate the difference that may be felt by a soul that has become aware of itself, as the Christ, or as Jesus the man became aware of the Spirit of the Father through those experiences of the man as he "went about doing good," and at those periods when there was received those acknowledgements of the Father that he WAS the one who could, WOULD, through those activities, become the Savior of man. First, as "in whom I am well pleased;" then as "This is my son; hear ye him!"

In the overcoming, then, He IS the way, the manner in which individuals may become aware of their souls that are in accord with that as may be one with the spirit of truth; for corruption inherits not eternal life. The Spirit is the true life. Then, as individuals become aware of that ability IN HIM to be the way, so they become the door, as representatives, as agents, as those that present the way; and the door is thus opened; and not to the man but the spirit of self that bears witness with the spirit of truth through Him that overcame the world, thus putting the world under His feet.

So we, as heirs of the kingdom, as brothers one with Him, may enjoy that privilege as He has given to those that hear His voice and put on the whole armor; that we may run the race that is set before us, looking to Him, the author, the giver of light; for in Him ye live and move and HAVE your being. Do ye become rebels? Do ye find fault one with another, that are as self heirs to that kingdom? Rather be in that humbleness of spirit, that His will "be done in earth as it is in heaven." Thus do we become the children of the Father, the door to the way, and joint heirs with Him in glory.

Let thy yeas be yea, thy nays be nay. "Let others do as they may, but for me I will serve a LIVING God," who has shown in man - ALL men, everywhere - that image of the Creator, in that the soul may grow in grace, in knowledge, in peace, in harmony, in understanding.

Be ye doers of the word; not hearers only. Thus ye become the door that the WAY, the Christ, the Savior, may enter in; for HE IS the way, the truth, and the light. (262-29)

05/14/1941

20. (Q) Should the Christ-Consciousness be described as the awareness within each soul, imprinted in pattern on the mind and waiting to be awakened by the will, of the soul's oneness with God?
(A) Correct. That's the idea exactly! (5749-14)

06/25/1943

22. (Q) Any other advice for the body at this time?
(A) Keep hold on that seeking for the Christ-Consciousness. For this will come, if there will be the consistent and persistent "Thy will be done, 0 Lord, in me; and help me to serve where and when I am needed most." (69-6)

06/17/1932

15. (Q) [993]: Please give us more information concerning the law of vibrations during meditation, and how we can understand and use that which we experience.
(A) As has been given, and as experienced by many, in opening self to the unseen forces about us, yet warred ever by those influences save when in the presence of His influence, then as the forces are raised in self KNOW - without doubt - there ARE His protecting influences, able, willing, capable, and WILL aid in that direction in which such vibrations, such influences, are raised to those individuals to whom they be directed, even by the spoken word; for, as is seen, as is understood by many, by most, that the UNSEEN forces are the ACTIVE forces, the ACTIVE principles. That which BECOMES as a manifestation is that which has been acted UPON BY those unseen forces and influences. What produces same? These are the VIBRATIONS to which a body has raised by its attunement of its whole being, its whole inner self, of a consciousness of that divine force that emanates in Life itself in this material plane. In sending such forces out, then, be mindful that there is no doubt that these will bring that as HE sees fit, “Not my will, O Father, but Thine be done!” What did THIS bring to Him? The cross, the burdens, the crown of thorns - yet in its essence it brought those abilities to overcome death, hell and the grave. So, as in our raising ourselves to that understanding that His presence is guiding and directing those influences about those to whom we would direct His cause (for they have called on us), then KNOW His will IS BEING done in the manner as THOU hast sent same to that individual!

We're told that 'the Christ Spirit is the door'.(262-27) This door, the Christ Spirit, may be open or shut to you. All one has to do is keep that 'door open that He may enter in'.(262-28) 'The lyden, [leydig] is the keeper of the door'.(294-140) This is demonstrated in the subsequent readings.

  1. Endocrine System
    1. Leydig Gland/Lyden [center or seal]

The leydig cells [pictured left] are located in the testis between the seminiferous tubules [pictured right].

04/02/1941

6. (Q) The leydig gland is the same as that we have called the lyden, and is located in the gonads.
(A) It is in and above, or the activity passes through the gonads. Lyden [See 281-53, R2] is the meaning - or the seal, see? while Leydig is the name of the individual who indicated this was the activity. You can call it either of these that you want to. (281-53)

04/22/1932

9. The lyden, [leydig] or 'closed gland', is the keeper - as it were - of the door, that would loose and let either passion or the miracle be loosed to enable those seeking to find the Open Door, or the Way to find expression in the attributes of the imaginative forces in their manifestation in the sensory forces of a body; whether to fingertips that would write, to eyes that would see, to voice that would speak, to the whole of the system as would feel those impressions that are attuned with those the infinite by their development and association or with those inter-between, or those just passed over, or as to the unseen forces; for the world of unconsciousness is not in a material change from the physical world save as to its attributes or of its relationships with. Whether the vision has been raised or lowered depends upon that height, depth, breadth or length, it has gone for its source of supply. (294-140)

04/23/1932

6. (Q) Please discuss in detail the functions of the pineal gland.
(A) If this is discussed from the anatomical viewpoint, in the fetus as is begun in first of gestation, we find this may be termed as the Builder. As is seen, the location of same is in the beginning in that of the center or the nucleus about which all of the matter takes its first form, and becomes the brain as is guiding or directing the building of the body as its development in the womb takes place. As it then reaches from the umbilical cord to the brain, there is builded that as is centered about same by the physical attributes of that progenerated from those bringing such an action into being. When there has reached that stage when there is the separation of same, the cord then being broken, this forms then its own basis in the lower portion of the brain, or cerebellum, and through the medulla oblongata to the central portion of the cerebro-spinal cord itself is held intact, and with the removal of same, or pressure on same, the various forms of hallucinations are evident, whether in the developing stage or when it has reached the elderly or older years in an experience. Its functioning, then, is as that, of that, which makes for - or known as - the impulse or imaginative body. Hence one that may be called demented by others, who has hallucinations from a pressure in some portions, may be visioning that which to him is as real (though others may call him crazy) as to those who are supposed to have an even balance of their senses; which [such visioning?] has been formed by the circulation, or the activity of the gland - as it is called - in its incipiency, until it becomes - or is - as a mass without apparent functioning. If the imaginative body, or the trained body (as is called in a material world) is, trained constantly away FROM the activities of same, it - in natural consequence of things in physical being - draws, as it were, within self. Hence senility sets in. Keep the pineal gland operating and you won't grow old - you will always be young!

In this activity, then, as is seen, there is within the genital organs the activity through that as may be called the lyden gland, [Leydig] which has within itself that closed door, or open door, as makes for activity through that to the base of the brain, or the PINEAL gland - as is at the base of the brain itself - which opens up for its activities and associations to those other portions of the brain; that sends out its sensations either through the sensory organism or the sympathetic organism, or the purely physical organism. For they may all act upon, or BE acted upon, for they are a portion of, and kindred of - (now remember, we are speaking from the physical standpoint, or pathological standpoint!) - and are the active forces and active principles in the activities and repulsions, or the actions, of individuals! As these are the activities that come directly from the organs of reproduction, hence, we find many instances where psychic forces or developments of the individuals, or of an entity, these become abused - or are used in a way and manner as to bring about abuses that make for degenerate reactions, as is considered by individuals, in their various forms or activities to the moral forces as may be set by individuals; but are to the individual the activities of a nature that is an action of, or an impulse of, the organs or functionings that are active through the functioning of the gland itself! Hence we have the variations in functionings of same. Now, as these are turned - or there is the seed, or that within same that may be awakened that makes for those impulses known as attributes that may be added to, that makes for the spiritual life first in that of faith as an opening, that of hope, then to virtue, then to knowledge, then to brotherly love, then to understanding, then to the Christ Consciousness, then to LOVE itself - which was manifest in the body of the Virgin that brought into being that through the concept of, or the conception through the Holy Spirit, by raising that consciousness within same as to PRODUCE that within the organs of the body itself that BECAME, as it were, the begotten of the Father! (294-141)

04/23/1932

3. (Q) What other glands in the body, if any, besides the Leydigian, pineal, and glands of reproduction, are directly connected with psychic development?
(A) These three are the ducts, or glands. In some developments these have reached a stage where they do not function as ducts or glands, but are rather dormant; yet much passes through same, especially for the various stages of a psychical sojourn or development. These, as we find - the genitive organism is as the motor, and the Leydig as a sealed or open door, dependent upon the development or the use same has been put to by the entity in its mental, its spiritual, activity. The mental may have been misused, or used aright. The spiritual activity goes on just the same. It is as the electron that is Life itself; but raised in power and then misdirected may bring death itself, or - as in the activities of the glands as seen, or ducts - that used aright may bring serenity, hope, peace, faith, understanding, and the attributes of its source, as the experience of the entity; or, misdirected, may bring those doubts, fears, apprehensions, contentions, disorders, disruptions, in every portion of the body. Hence these may literally be termed, that the pineal and the Leydig are the SEAT of the soul of an entity.

As to the abilities of physical reproduction, much of the activity of the Leydig makes for that as of embryonic in its activity, or of sterility in its activity. So we have those channels. These are not the psychic forces, please understand! They are the CHANNELS through which the activities have their impulse! though the manifestations may be in sight, in sound, in speech, in vision, in writing, in dreams, in Urim or Thummim, or in any. For these represent Urim and Thummim in their essence, or in ANY of the RESPONDING forces in a body; but their impulse arises from or through these sources in much the same manner as the heart and the liver are of the physical body the motivating forces, or impulses, that carry the stream of life itself; or as the brain is that motivating center of impulse or mind. These are merely as illustrations that the student may better understand the activity of that being presented. [See subsequent [281] series on glands.] (294-142)

The 'lyden gland, [Leydig] which has within itself that closed door, or open door, as makes for activity through that to the base of the brain'.(294-141)

What happens when this 'door' is kept open? The 'activity' that runs through the Leydig center to the base of the brain is the kundalini(3421-1) which may 'remove the dross'(264-45) and purify man, in the words of Phylos the Thibetan, 'by the fire of the Spirit, from all taint of animality'.1 To put it another way, 'as each soul offers itself in sacrifice that it may be put upon the altars or fires of love and BURNED, as it were, that there might be that purification in the flesh, that there might become again the dross burned away and the pure soul be one with that Creative Energy'.(275-43)

12/27/1943

4. We find that there has been the opening of the Lyden (Leydig?) gland, so that the kundaline forces move along the spine to the various centers that open with this attitude, or with these activities of the mental and spiritual forces of the body - much in the same manner as might be illustrated in the foetus that forms from conception. These naturally take form. Here these take form, for they have not in their inception been put to a definite use. (3421-1)

02/16/1935

10. (Q) What were the thoughts and tenets which were studied at the time of my incarnation when in the Temple Beautiful, wherein I was enabled through the activities to become more in accord with developing the body beautiful? [See Life reading, 264-31.]
(A) That the motivative forces that cleanse matter are of the spiritual fires that have removed and do remove the dross of carnal forces. For when the body, when the soul (as the entity did then), makes for no thought of self or of body but that the glory and the fires of love that are of the Creative Forces burn within the mind, the body, the soul, so do they purify the FLESH, the MATTER, the INFLUENCES of being IN a DIMENSIONAL plane. (264-45)

Swami Vivekananda put it this way:

Thus the rousing of the Kundalini is the one and only way to attaining Divine Wisdom, and super-conscious perception, the realisation of the spirit.2

    1. Pineal/Pituitary

Gray's Anatomy: 11. The pineal gland. | 17. The pituitary body.3

05/28/1941

14. (Q) Medical Science calls the glands at the base of the brain Pituitary and 3rd eye Pineal. Why have these names been reversed? Please explain.
(A) Their activity indicates that, from the angles of this study, these should be reversed.

15. (Q) Meaning we should reverse ours, or that Medical Science should?
(A) To understand what is being given, reverse them! We are not telling Medical Science what to do! We are telling YOU what to do! (281-54)

The prior reading says that the action of the pineal [see: 'pinus, a fir-cone']4 and pituitary are to be reversed. This is illustrated in the reading below.

11/23/1936

9. (Q) What should be his proper height at this time? [GD's note: He was of rather small stature and not as tall as his mother thought he should be for one his age.]
(A) The height of an individual or an entity depends, to be sure, upon the activity of the pineal AND its correlation with the adrenals of the body; this using or maintaining its activity from the first impulse even in the ratio of activity at conception.

Though this may be aided and stimulated by the addition or injection or applications in such a manner of mechanical natures to INCREASE the flow of activity of this glandular system, in this body - as we find in the present, according to these ratios as has been indicated - it is almost normal in its height.

But if there are the pressures removed along the cerebro-spinal system, this would then make for such changes as to make the growth in height NORMAL. This is much preferable for normalcy in a physical developing body. (759-13)

Edgar Cayce makes a correlation between height and the pineal gland; 'The height of an individual…depends…upon the activity of the pineal'.(759-13) Medical science has found that acromegaly occurs when the pituitary [see: pineal when reversed] gland produces too much growth hormone. We're not told why he had reversed the names of the two bodies, only that he has. This is important and should be kept in mind when contrasting the readings against other sources anent spiritual regeneration.

Which is the higher gland? It's the pineal gland from Gray's Anatomy; yet listed as the pituitary in the Edgar Cayce readings.

10/28/1936

5. (Q) Which is the highest gland in the body - the pineal or the pituitary?
(A) The pituitary! (281-29)

In (262-27) it is said that we may 'know the Father through the exemplifying of His attributes'; but, 'with the exaltation of self - or the gratifying of the desires of flesh - the door closes'. Additionally, the 'gratifying of the earthly desires through the gratifying of the flesh DOES close the door to the spiritual life'.(262-28)

As discussed before, 'The lyden, [leydig]…is the keeper…of the door [see: to the Christ Spirit or spiritual life]'(294-140) and may either be open or closed. Opened by 'the exemplifying of His attributes'; closed by 'the exaltation of self' and/or the 'gratifying of the desires of flesh'.

So what are 'His attributes' and how do we exemplify them?

  1. Fruits of the Spirit
02/11/1934

8. (Q) Please discuss, "How and What are the manifestations of the Father?"
(A) The fruits of the spirit. Gentleness, kindness, the loving word, patience, hope, persistence, and - above all - consistency in thy acts and in thy speech. Be ye glorious in thine activity. Be ye joyous in thy words. For, HAPPY is the man that knoweth that his life bespeaks that the Son and the Spirit of Truth directs the words and the activities of his body! (262-58)

02/02/1934

5. Then, in entering, each soul comes to manifest that it has NOT so well learned in the lessons of hope, patience, tolerance, brotherly love, kindness, gentleness, meekness, and such. These are the fruits of the spirit. And the manifestation of these attributes in the experience of each soul brings, as the Master of Masters has given, that awareness of self of the soul that is the gift of the Creator, that is the birthright of every individual that may be wasted in attempting to gratify those things that are of the earth, or of the carnal forces, and thus become weakened and less aware of its experience or existence in the affairs of man. Yet the soul finds its experience, no matter in what environ; and the ENVIRON is that created by what the soul - the inner self - has done, does do, about the manifestations of Creative Influences in the relationships to its fellow man. (505-4)

08/31/1935

8. Then, just being kind, just being patient, just showing love for thy fellow man; THAT is the manner in which an individual works AT becoming aware of the consciousness of the Christ Spirit. (272-9)

These are the attributes of Him; the manifestation of such brings the Christ-Consciousness. This awareness 'may be wasted in attempting to gratify those things that are of the earth, or of the carnal forces'.(505-4)

The readings that proceed indicate that retaining one's 'seed' is KEY to awakening these 'attributes'; but, secondary, this also pertains to abstaining from all self-gratification.

  1. Self-abnegation
    1. Continence
10/12/1932

6. (Q) Is it desirable for this body to have sex relationships other than that obtainable through a marriage, if it has its inception in the spiritual mind?
(A) The relationships that come from that [see: sexual relationships] which is of the highest vibrations that are experienced in the material world are those that may be found in such relations, and are the basis of that which is termed the original sin; and hence may be easily misunderstood, misconstrued, mis-interpreted in the experience of EVERY individual; but these should be known - that the control of such, rather than being controlled BY such, gives that which makes for the awareness of SPIRITUAL intent and purpose. To overstep those conditions created by those environs in social relations and atmospheres that are brought about by such, however, is to take those leaves with self that may not be EASILY retained. Take not, give not, that that cannot be taken and given in the spirit of "HIS will, not mine, be done!" Each must judge such for themselves, in the light of THEIR understanding. Each has the right to say I will, I will not. (911-5)

04/01/1935

5. In the Temple of Sacrifice we have quite another picture. Here there is the falling away of those influences in which man had come by his projection of self into matter that there might be the satisfying of desires of flesh as in animal associations and matter relating one to another; which feeding upon itself, as flesh upon flesh, bringeth corruption in the very souls of men. So was there the breathing upon the bodies that there might be the crucifying of the activities in the desires of body, the desires of flesh, the crucifying of those desires as in relation one to another. These must be blotted out as each soul offers itself in sacrifice that it may be put upon the altars or fires of love and BURNED, as it were, that there might be that purification in the flesh, that there might become again the dross burned away and the pure soul be one with that Creative Energy. (275-43)

26. (Q) Is continence in marriage advisable except when mating to produce offspring?
(A) This should be, and is, as we have indicated in the matter of education, the OUTCOME of the UNIVERSAL sources of supply of the individuals. For some, yes; in other cases it would be VERY bad on the part of each, while in others it would be bad on one or the other, see?
There should be, then, rather the educating as to the PURPOSES, and HOW - HOW that the force, the vitality, that goes for the gratifying of emotions may be centralized in creating - in the lives of others about the body in all its various phases - spiritual blessings. (826-6)

2. EC: Yes, we have the information as written here, as given. In following out that as just given, with these changes coming in the experience of Amilius [?] and I [Ai? Ay?], Adam and Eve, the knowledge of their position, or that as is known in the material world today as desires and physical bodily charms, the understanding of sex, sex relationships, came into the experience. With these came the natural fear of that as had been forbidden, that they know themselves to be a part of but not OF that as partook of EARTHLY, or the desires in the manner as were ABOUT them, in that as had been their heritage.

3. Were this turned to that period when this desire, then, becomes consecrated in that accomplished again in the virgin body of the mother of the SON of man, we see this is then crystallized into that, that even that of the flesh may be - with the proper concept, proper desire in all its purity - consecrated to the LIVING forces as manifest by the ability in that body so brought into being, as to make a way of escape for the ERRING man. Hence we have found throughout the ages, so oft the times when conception of truth became rampant with free-love, with the desecration of those things that brought to these in the beginning that of the KNOWLEDGE of their existence, as to that that may be termed - and betimes became - the MORAL, or morality OF a people. Yet this same feeling, this same exaltation that comes from association of kindred bodies - that have their lives consecrated in a purposefulness, that makes for the ability of retaining those of the essence of creation in every virile body - can be made to become the fires that light truth, love, hope, patience, peace, harmony; for they are EVER the key to those influences that fire the imaginations of those that are gifted in ANY form of depicting the high emotions of human experience, whether it be in the one or the other fields, and hence is judged by those that may not be able, or through desire submit themselves - as did Amilius [?] and I [?] to those ELEMENTS, through the forces in the life as about them. (364-6)

10. So, then, give ye unto men as this: Train ye the child when he is young, and when he is old he will not depart from the Lord. Train HIM, train HER, train THEM rather in the sacredness of that which has come to them as a privilege, which has come to them as a heritage; from a falling away, to be sure, but through the purifying of the body in thought, in act, in certainty, it may make for a peoples, a state, a nation, that may indeed herald the coming of the Lord. For this is the problem, that ye keep the law and present same as holy to those who seek. Who seeks? EVERY child born into the earth, from the age of 2 1/2 to 3 years begins to find there is something that takes place within its BODY - and that it is DIFFERENT; not as animals, though the ANIMAL instinct is there, of the biological urge, that is a law! For that is the source of man's undoing. But ye who set yourselves as examples in the order of society, education, Christian principles, religious thought, religious ideals, hold rather than to anything else to that LOVE which is UN-sexed! For He hath given that in the heavenly state, in the higher forces, there is neither marriage nor giving in marriage; for they are as ONE! Yet ye say ye are in the earth, ye are born with the urge! The awakening, then, must come from within; here a little, there a little. Each soul, each body, that is preserved unto Him as a channel of blessings has received and does receive that within itself which makes for the greater abilities for awakening within the hearts, minds, souls and bodies of the young who question "what will I do with the biological urge that arises?" PURIFY same in service to Him, in expressions of love; in expressions of the fruits of the spirit, which are: Gentleness, kindness, brotherly love, long-suffering. THESE are the fruits, and these as the urge of sex are in the nature of the association of ideas, conditions or positions as related to the various conditions about the body. Then set the activity in motion and these become either that which takes hold on hell or that which builds to the kingdom within. (5747-3)

Now, as these are turned - or there is the seed, or that within same that may be awakened that makes for those impulses known as attributes that may be added to, that makes for the spiritual life first in that of faith as an opening, that of hope, then to virtue, then to knowledge, then to brotherly love, then to understanding, then to the Christ Consciousness, then to LOVE itself1 - which was manifest in the body of the Virgin that brought into being that through the concept of, or the conception through the Holy Spirit, by raising that consciousness within same as to PRODUCE that within the organs of the body itself that BECAME, as it were, the begotten of the Father! (294-141)

28. (Q) (left out of [original rdg.] reading, by request). Is masturbation or self-abuse injurious? [Copies for her on a separate piece of paper.]
(A) Ever injurious, unless it is the activity that comes with the natural raising of the vibrations in system to meet the needs or the excess of those impulses in a body. (268-2) [see: nocturnal emissions?]

Through the practice of continence [and self-abnegation] one may become more aware of the Christ Spirit through the [inner & outer] manifestation of it's 'fruits'; though, 'the door closes'(262-27) 'to the spiritual life'(262-28) with the reverse of this. Below are readings of individual lives that, again, indicate the importance of sexual continence.

      1. Individual lives
        1. daughter of the Law of One
07/27/1939

46. Before that the entity was in the Atlantean land, during those periods of the first of the destructive forces.

47. There we find the entity was in a state of turmoil because of the activities of the sons of Belial, and with those of the daughters of the children of One. For the entity had disputations - being physically in love with one of the sons of Belial, and yet giving in its service, giving in its activities with the children of the Law of One.

48. Hence disputations, and the giving away to fleshly desires arose.

49. Leave these far from thee in the present. For know, while they arise in thy experience in the present, there is the healing which comes in Him and the knowledge of His presence abiding with thee, that taketh away the DESIRE even for those weaknesses of the flesh. (1968-1)

01/25/1940

9. There we find that the entity, as has been indicated, was PHYSICALLY in love with one of the children of the sons of Belial. Hence there were disturbing factors, by the desire and the attempt to influence the entity to refrain from associations with the children of Belial.

10. For - as would be compared with the present - the association would be as of a young girl or person with those who were given to debauchery, or to the satisfying alone of the appetites of every nature, or the material experiences as might be indicated in the present.

11. These brought the disturbing forces throughout the experience; yet there were the eventual associations - or conjugations - with the son of Belial. Thus there was the taking on of the physical desires, the physical reactions which were at variance to the teachings and the innate expressions of those who had been the companions and associates of the entity. (1968-2)

        1. 'a high priestess' of the Law of One
03/15/1941

51. The entity was among the children of the law of One; a high priestess, who chose to keep within self those abilities for progeneration. (2464-1)

        1. John the Baptist
10/18/1935

17. The entity from those experiences in the periods of waiting, as many, doubted; yet in the presence of Him - as He increased, and as many of the disciples of John became doubtful when Herod putting forth his hand slew him that there might be the appeasing of a selfish desire because he had spoken against that which answered to the aggrandizing of a fleshly lust - there came the days when Edithia was with those great crowds that cried, "Hosanna! Ye come in the name of the Lord!" (587-6)

      1. Marriage
08/30/1937

69. (Q) Along just what specific lines should I direct my studies for mental and spiritual balance?
(A) Take that as thy God that tells of His, thy Lord's, thy God's dealings with men. Though many may pronounce same as of a questionable nature, FIND - by its study - that it is thine experience also.

Then the purpose in the experience is to present thyself holy, acceptable unto Him in the measures and in the ways that He would direct.

Know that He has SANCTIONED marriage. Know He hath not questioned thee in thy motives. Know He WILL guide and direct if ye will seek to know of Him. (1436-2)

God has sanctioned marriage, but...

07/17/1939

53. (Q) Have I met the right man?
(A) This is pre-supposing that the entity IS to marry! and this must be determined first by self and not by these sources. Such a condition is not predestined, nor a predisposition save as to whether ye would use the law of grace and mercy, or become amenable to the law and follow same as an animal. (1957-1)

one will 'become amenable to the law' by that. To make 'use the law of grace and mercy'(1957-1) 'Creative Energies' must be 'applied'(1397-1) by the purification of self 'to LOVE itself'.(294-141)

03/17/1938

14. For as ye measure to thy fellow man it is measured to thee again. This is an UNCHANGEABLE law! For as ye ask for forgiveness, only in those measures in which ye forgive may ye be forgiven. For are ye not seeking to be one with Him? Then only AS ye forgive may ye BE forgiven! Only AS ye show forth love may love be shown forth to thee! Ye cannot rise above that as ye measure, that as ye live. For as the expression of life IS the manifestation of that love, then in the measure as it metes so is it measured to thee. (1348-1)

In (364-6) we learn that continence is key to awakening the attributes of the Father ('the fruits of the spirit') within yourself. This is progressive; 'as these are turned - or there is the seed, or that within same that may be awakened that makes for those impulses known as attributes that may be added to, that makes for the spiritual life first in that of faith as an opening, that of hope, then to virtue, then to knowledge, then to brotherly love, then to understanding, then to the Christ Consciousness, then to LOVE itself'.(294-141) As your capacity for love increases, so does your ability to truly forgive. This would seemingly allow you to make use of 'the law of grace and mercy';(1957-1) for, (1348-1) states that 'ye cannot rise above that as ye measure' that 'only in those measures in which ye forgive may ye be forgiven'. The next few readings indicate the same.

07/04/1937

10. Hence there still remains not merely what may be termed karmic influences, if one were - or the entity were - to define such in its own experience. For under material law one meets that it has constantly sown, but if constructive influences or forces of Creative Energies are applied, these become rather as null in the experience. (1397-1)

08/17/1938

26. For ye know, ye understand - all stand as one before Him. There are no ones above another; only those that do His will. What is His will? "Thou shalt love the Lord with all thy heart, thy mind, thy body - and thy neighbor as thyself." This is the whole law - the spiritual law, the mental law, the material law. And as ye apply same, thus ye become the LAW! For as He, thy Master, thy Lord, thy Christ fulfilled the law by compliance with same, He became the law and thus thy Savior, thy Brother, thy Christ! for in Him ye find, ye see the example that is set before thee pertaining to the natural life, the mental life, the material life, the spiritual life. Not an extremist, and not a conservative - but one who met each experience in a manner in which there was NEVER a question in His Consciousness as to its purpose, His desire and the ability to be one with the purpose of the Creative Force - God! (1662-1)

09/03/1940

14. For, there has not been the full concept as to the meaning of the blood as shed for the eternal sacrifice, or the law being of none effect in the law itself; that as individuals, in body, in mind, in spirit BECOME the law, it is then as void in THEIR experience - for they ARE the law! And the law is love, the law is God, the law IS circumstance - as experienced in the activities there. (2067-2)

05/10/1943

20. Then the ideal or the purpose must to the entity become the law. Remember, law is love, love is law, love is God, love is manifested in material things, in personal things, in individual things; yet there are ideals to which the entity would attain. (2995-1)

    1. Asceticism
      1. 'student under Saint Cecilia'
05/06/1944

5. Music should be the career, should be the purpose of the entity in its activity but should be accomplished by its own efforts within itself for the very love of music itself and should be only of the classic and operatic nature.

6. For the entity was a student under Saint Cecilia, who attained to the realms close to infinity, or able to interpret the music of the spheres and yet failing in some respects, for the entity became enamored of the Saint and you can guess what happened. (5056-1)

05/06/1944

10. As in the experience before this, in the name then Giovana Bactioo, the entity sought the activities in its music with the Saint. As the activities progressed, the music was forgotten in the desire physically for the Saint and it eventually destroyed itself. (5056-1)

Saint Cecilia [see: Saint Cecilia], the patron saint of musicians, was an early Christian martyr, incorruptible and virginal. The above reading doesn't explicitly state what happened, but does imply, that in this past life, the female student couldn't fulfill her homosexual desire and eventually committed suicide. The reading goes on to say that he [male in his present incarnation] could become a great pianist if he makes for himself 'physical hardships'.

05/06/1944

8. The entity should, then, work towards making or engaging in a year's service or work, save every penny, spend every penny, only for music and lessons, but make of and for itself the physical hardships. Sleep on a hard, hard bed. Don't eat too much, don't indulge in things such as sweets, or add to the body, nor engage in those activities in which the movies (such as are shown today) are a part of the activity. Refrain from same. Oft go for days only on bread and water, but do it of thyself if ye would succeed, and ye may become even a greater pianist than Hoffman. [GD's note: Hauptmann?, Hofmann, Josef Casimir?] (5056-1)

It's of importance to note that she came close to being 'able to interpret the music of the spheres', but failed because of what followed this captivatation with the saint. The music of the spheres is a concept attributed to the Pythagoreans, a celibate brotherhood,5 and is explained below.

The Pythagoreans believed that everything which existed had a voice and that all creatures were eternally singing the praise of the Creator. Man fails to hear these divine melodies because his soul is enmeshed in the illusion of material existence. When he liberates himself from the bondage of the lower world with its sense limitations, the music of the spheres will again be audible as it was in the Golden Age.6

  1. Self/Selfishness
    1. Self-will
11/08/1933

19. Do that which is good, for there has been given in the consciousness of all the fruits of the spirit: Fellowship, kindness, gentleness, patience, long-suffering, love; these be the fruits of the spirit. Against such there is no law.

20. Doubt, fear, avarice, greed, selfishness, self-will; these are the fruits of the evil forces. Against such there IS a law. Self-preservation, then, should be in the fruits of the spirit, as ye seek through any channel to know more of the path from life - from good to good - to life; from death unto life, from evil unto good. Seek and ye shall find. Meditate on the fruits of the Spirit in the inner secrets of the consciousness, and the cells in the body become aware of the awakening of the life in their activity through the body. In the mind, the cells of the mind become aware of the life in the spirit. The spirit of life maketh not afraid. (5752-3)

10/13/1940

18. (Q) Define sin and original sin, or what was original sin? Please explain.
(A) It may be defined in one word, - disobedience!

In the beginning, the perfect man was given all the attributes of the Father-God, in ideal environments prepared by God for man's material manifestation. Let's draw the comparisons of man made perfect through experience, and man WILLFULLY being disobedient:

In the first we find man listening to those influences which were at variance to God's way. Then in the temple, even at twelve, we find the perfect man seeking, asking, and answering questions as to man's relationship to God.

Sin, then, is willful disobedience. Draw the comparison within thyself as to those experiences indicated in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of Genesis and those in the 2nd of Luke - where we find our pattern, our lesson, and those illustrations that indicate sin versus righteousness, one willfully seeking to know the relationship to the Creator, or the answer, "Know ye not that I must be about my Father's business?" How different from that other, "The WOMAN thou gavest me, SHE persuaded me, and I did eat"? (262-125)

05/19/1942

34. (Q) How may I help my daughter, [...], to solve her marital problem?
(A) These can best be studied in the light of those suggestions indicated as to the application of self through the various experiences in the earth.

Remember, if the spiritual is put first and foremost, if the purpose of an individual is in the RIGHT direction, the MATERIAL happenings will eventually come right. These may at times appear confusing and as being contradictory, but the law of the Lord is PERFECT.

To enable an individual to find these is the understanding where ALL marital relationships may be best understood.

Individuals do not meet by chance. They ARE necessary in the experiences of others, though they may not always use their opportunities in a spiritual way or manner.

Thus the injunction - study to show thyself approved unto thy ideal, which IS thy God. If ye make thyself god, if ye make thy hopes, thy wants, thy purposes thy god, they become selfish, they become monsters, they become destroying influences.

Teach, give instruction, even as ye did in the Egyptian experience. There ye aided. Now ye may aid; not by material.

And DO NOT condemn anyone! (2751-1)

05/26/1934
4. (Q) Even in view of all the information as given respecting my great wish to be an actress - is it too late? Am I too old to start this new phase?
(A) If the desire of the heart, of the mind, is such as to build rather a career that is for the gratification of those interests that are creative within themselves to bring certain characters of activity. But the very purposes that have been given thee, that thou wouldst find in the very activity that which must give of the very body itself in carnal desire to build for such experiences, should make for the knowledge within self that in such a field that has come to mean this in the lives of others ye cannot gather good from evil. Ye cannot do evil that good may come of same. You cannot submerge thine self that these can be the better. Time has passed, yea. From time to time, under certain circumstances and environs sought, the END was given - yet ever has there been given that ye must pay the price - every whit! For, what ye sow ye must reap. Have ye sown in dishonor, have ye sown in making thine conscience subjugated to that which tells within self that this is not the way; then ye must reap that which comes.

Has the time wholly passed? No. But art thou willing to pay the price? Success may be made in the activities on the stage or in the cinema, for there is continuing to be sought the new faces, the new types, for feeding the bodies of same to what? Indulgencies of one character, nature or another! And while they may build and may draw interest within self that will satisfy an ambition, as we have given, ambition - unless it is tested in God's crucible - is of itself sin. Not that one should not be ambitious, no - but rather ambitious that God should be the guide and not self, or man. (349-17)

04/16/1932

13. (Q) For that day?
(A) No. For, fasting - as is ordinarily termed - is as the Master gave: Laying aside thine own concept of HOW or WHAT should be done at this period, and let the Spirit guide. Get the truth of fasting! The body, the man's bodily functioning, to be sure, OVERDONE brings SHAME to self, over indulgence in anything - but the true fasting is casting out of self that as "I would have done", [replacing with] "but as THOU, O Lord, seest fit - use me as the channel, as the strength comes by the concerted and cooperative seeking of many to give Thy strength to a body!" (295-6)

06/25/1943

22. (Q) Any other advice for the body at this time?
(A) Keep hold on that seeking for the Christ-Consciousness. For this will come, if there will be the consistent and persistent "Thy will be done, 0 Lord, in me; and help me to serve where and when I am needed most." (69-6)

    1. 'selfishness is sin'
04/27/1937

35. KNOW, self is the only excuse. Self is the only sin; that is, selfishness - and all the others are just a modification of that expression of the ego. But so close is the ego, the I Am, to the GREAT I AM, THAT I AM, that the confusions of duty and privilege and opportunity become so enmeshed in the experience of the entity. (1362-1)

11/17/1936

40. Self-glory, self-exaltation, self-indulgence becometh those influences that become as abominations to the divinity in each soul; and SEPARATE them from a knowledge of Him. For thou ART persuaded, for thou KNOWEST from thine experience, NOTHING may separate the soul of man from its Maker but desires and lusts! (1293-1)

11/02/1937

45. (Q) What is my worst fault?
(A) What is ever the worst fault of each soul? SELF - SELF!

What is the meaning of self?

That the hurts, the hindrances
[see: caused by selfishness] are hurts to the self- consciousness; and these create what? Disturbing forces, and these bring about confusions and faults of every nature.

For the only sin of man is SELFISHNESS!

46. (Q) How may it be overcome?
(A) Just as has been given; showing mercy, showing grace, showing peace, longsuffering, brotherly love, kindness - even under the most TRYING circumstances.

For what is the gain if ye love those ONLY that love thee? But to bring hope, to bring cheer, to bring joy, yea to bring a smile again to those whose face and heart are bathed in tears and in woe, is but making that divine love SHINE - SHINE - in thy own soul!

Then SMILE, be joyous, be glad! For the day of the Lord is at hand.

Who is thy Lord? Who is thy God?

Self? Or Him in Whom ye live and move and have thy being - that is ALL in All, God the Father, the Love - the GREAT Hope, the Great Patience?
These are thy ALL.

Keep in the way that is arising before thee, more and more. And as ye open thy consciousness to the Great Consciousness within, there will arise more and more the white light.

For He is the light, and the life - eternal. (987-4)

06/30/1935

20. (Q) How should we present it to one who has lost faith in Creative Force?
(A) Live it! For that in the material world is the manner in which each soul, whether in this or that thought, takes cognizance of that about it. In so doing, as He has said, ye heap upon the head of him who has denied faith, who has denied the Lord, that which will make a call or desire for a change; and THEN ye may point the way that has been helpful, hopeful to thee.

Be not overcome with those things that make for discouragements, for HE will supply the strength. Lean upon the arm of the DIVINE within thee, giving not place to thoughts of vengeance or discouragements. Give not vent to those things that create prejudice. And, most of all, be UNSELFISH! For selfishness is sin, before first thine self, then thine neighbor and thy God.

Love ye one another. Give as ye have received
. (254-87)

    1. 'it is selflessness we are to attain'
05/04/1940

12. Then, self must become selfless, and not in any form or manner desire those things that would be advantageous over others in that others would have to suffer that self might have the advantage, - for that is selfishness, and not selflessness.

13. And selflessness is that to which each entity, each soul, must attain through the varied experiences in the material plane. (2185-1)

06/17/1943

32. In Uranus we find the extremes, as well as the interest in the occult, the mysterious. Do not TRY too hard, for when we try hard we become too conscious of self - and it is selflessness we are to attain, even as He, who thought it not robbery to make Himself equal with God, but EVER recognized "Of myself I can do nothing - only as the spirit of truth, of God, works in and through me may that be accomplished that is pleasing in His sight." (3051-2)

06/16/1944

21. (Q) What should I do about it?
(A) That's up to the entity. To know what to do and not to do it, it becomes a sin, and to know to do good in certain given directions, these may become as semi-good. Just keep trying in the attitude of asking daily that the entity be guided in doing and choosing that which is the greater benefit, not for the entity alone, but the contribution to making the world a better place for others to live in. (5248-1)

    1. 'what spirit ye entertain'
10/29/1943

11. With what spirit will ye entertain thy own righteousness? Think not that ye may not find many in the life today saying, Did we not in thy name help here, there? Did we not in thy name cast out demons? And yet he may say, "Depart from me, I never knew you." For it is with what purpose, what spirit ye entertain. Is it for the glory of self and for the glory of God, and thus honoring self? (3344-1)

04/12/1944

9. For if you will read the Book of Revelation with the idea of the body as the interpretation, you will understand yourself and learn to really analyze, psychoanalyze, mentally analyze others. But you will have to learn to apply it in self first. For the motivating force in each one of those patterns represented, is that which the individual entity entertains as the ideal. This is the motivating spirit, the motivating purpose. When it is out of attune, or not coordinating with the First Cause, there may not be the greater unfoldment. For, it is in self that it becomes out of attune. It loses its power or ability. It loses creative energy or its hold upon the First Cause that is the Creator or God. (4083-1)

14. If these are to be used for self-aggrandizement, self-indulgences, do they not become rather as He gave of old? "Ye shall come and say, Did we not in thy name heal the sick? did we not in thy name cast out demons?" and He will say, "Depart from me, I never knew you!" Why? WHY?

15. Because the desire, the purpose is that self may be exalted, rather than the humbleness of the heart before Him. For he that would be the greatest must be the servant of all.

16. THESE be those things that ye must choose within thine own experience.

17. For there is ever, as given of old, set before thee each day good and evil, life and death - choose thou!

18. These are not, then, other than that thy prayer should ever be: "Lord, here am I - Use me in the way THOU seest that I may be the greater channel of blessings to those I meet day by day."

19. For until ye are willing to LOSE thyself in service, ye may not indeed know that peace which He has promised to give - to all. (1599-1)

9. (Q) Explain the symbol of the 2nd beast with 2 horns, having the power to perform miracles. Rev. 13.
(A) As has been given by Him, the power as attained by the study that has been shown in the first portions is to be applied, or may be applied unworthily - as is shown by the beast with two ways, two horns. Then here, how hath it been given? One Lord, one faith, one God, one baptism, one way! Yet in the experiences as ye watch about you there are constantly shown the influences by the very forces of the beast with the double-mindedness, as showing wonders in the earth yet they must come even as He hath given, "Though ye may have done this or that, though ye may have healed the sick, though ye may have cast out demons in my name, I know ye not; for ye have followed rather as the beast of self- aggrandizement, self-indulgence, self-glorification," even as the beast shown here. 53. (Q) How may I come to a greater realization of my inner spiritual power and the relation of this power to all Creative Force?
(A) That has been given over and over again, here in this: In APPLYING that ye know TODAY! and tomorrow the next step is given. For it is line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little, there a little. And if ye would have thy God - yea thy better self be patient with thee, then be patient with thy study, yea thy fellow man.

For indeed as He gave, "In patience possess ye your souls."

Then, as ye are manifested before thy consciousness IN thy consciousness, become aware of this; not only as ye see the unfoldment of life in matter as a manifestation of that force and power ye would worship as thy God, thy companion, thy Lord, yea thy BROTHER, thy portion of thyself, BUT in time, in space, in patience is the heart of it all! (826-11)

Notes

  1. Matthew 5:17-20
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
