  1. Prayer

9. Not that these are to be as worries, for remember the injunction - never worry as long as you can pray. When you can't pray - you'd better begin to worry! For then you have something to worry about! (This is for the parents - not the child!) (3569-1)

32. (Q) Career as a pianist was brought to an end through my extreme nervousness and lack of confidence, and other talents have suffered because of an overpowering fear. What am I to do?
(A) No doubt overpowering fear. Right about face! Know it is within thee! Defying this has brought the fear, has brought the anxieties. Turn about, and pray a little oftener. Do this several weeks, yes - let a whole moon pass, or a period of a moon - 28 days - and never fail to pray at two o'clock in the morning. Rise and pray - facing east! Ye will be surprised at how much peace and harmony will come into thy soul. This doesn't mean being goody-goody - it means being good for something, but let it be creative and not that which will eventually turn and rend thee. (3509-1)

    1. For He knoweth what ye have need of

6. That as is promised in Him, "I go to the Father that ye abiding in me (or the manner) may have an advocate with the Father." That YE may as from the beginning approach the throne of grace, the throne of mercy, the access to the first cause. And not through any material soul seeking its way but Him that has from the first abided in the Father. Hence as each soul seeks in this material world through all those conditions, all those environs, all those things that so easily beset the mental mind, the carnal forces, the supply of the material force - as is in exchange for the conditions about each body, each mind for its expression - is supplied in Him. For He is the tree of life; He is the water of life; He is the bread of life; He is that in which each soul may - in its expressions of that He was. He is, he ever will be, in its associations with its fellow man - what He is, was, and ever has been; Peace, Harmony, Glory, JOY, Understanding. For these find their expressions, their attributes in that one does respecting the fellow man. Not sacrifice; for His sacrifice was in faith, that it may be counted to thee as righteousness. Not making for sadness in the sorrow of thine own undoing. For rather has this been expressed that ye in thine inner self may find that peace, that harmony in Him, as ye go about doing; not withdrawing within thine self, as ye go doing; not waiting, not sitting still. For he that doeth the will IS the will, and becomes one - through Him - in His promises - with The Creative Forces; and a channel, as He is a channel. Others may find that commandment He gave as new ever, to each soul that seeks, "Love ye one another," in such manners that ye prefer even those that would speak evil of thee above thyself, even he that would do thee harm, even he that would speak unkindly, unjustly; ye prefer them and their approach to that throne above thine self. This is the manner. This is the way, His way. For He IS the way, the truth and the light. In Him is no darkness at all. And if ye would know the light, then hold fast to that thou hast seen and may see in thy kindnesses to thy fellow man; thy gentlenesses, thy brotherly love, thy long-suffering. These make for those fruits that bear in Him the burden of the world. And as ye give expressions of same in thy ministry to thy fellow man, each atom of thyself not only becomes illumined to that strength that ye may impart to the weakened members of a body, but illumining thine own inner self that ye may in so doing also impart to the minds of a such that trust, that faith, that hope in Him; such as to renew that mental force that becomes, with the soul of such, awakened in such measures as to make their portion of the divine in themselves to become like unto the green bay tree, or as the hart upon the mountain as it springs in its youth in spring.

For the heart is gladdened by that light in Him. So may ye find thy ministry in the earth fulfilling that as may be brought to thine own understanding. For He, thy father, thy God, knoweth what ye have need of. And from the abundance of His storehouse doth He supply thy every need. From whence cometh such? As ye measure to thy fellow man, so will it be measured to thee, and HE putteth it into the hearts of those that ye serve the ABUNDANCE of thy material successes, of thy necessities of the body, of the mind, of the material things in an experience. For thou in so doing putteth thy life, thy portion of Him, into His own keeping. For ye measure same as HE would measure. And this brings of itself its own reward. For He hath not willed that any soul should see sadness, darkness, nor be troubled ANY at all! But ye in trampling upon His love, His mercy to those about thee, create (as thou art the portion of Him) those barriers over which ye stumble and fall. But as ye clear the way for thy fellow man so dost THOU have the clear path that leads to the greater understanding. (683-2)

5. Hence it is a growth, as knowledge, to know in material things what to desire. For, thou hast been given that thine heavenly Father knoweth what ye have need of before ye ask. Then the weak or the pessimist may say, "Why do I have need to ask, if it is known?" The very act shows what the desire is. The very expression shows - if the self will analyze same in the light of that given - as to what is the motivative force in the experience of such a mind, soul or body.

6. But seek ye, for he that seeketh findeth. To him that knocketh it shall be opened. Apply, then, that thou hast received. Know ye within yourselves as to how, in what manner and as to what fruit it will bring in thine own experience. (262-64)

    1. 'ask in His name believing'

30. (Q) [1129]:
(A) In keeping the lights of love ye walk in the paths that thy Savior - yea, that Jesus - trod; to do good even when lightly and slightly spoken of; to show mercy and judgment even when considered to be a little "off"; to be kind and patient. This is keeping the Lord's ways, and though they may bring at times discouragement and wonderment, know He IS mindful and will protect thee. For His promises are sure, and what ye ask in His name believing ye will have in thy experience. (262-116)

13. (Q) Why do I feel a hesitancy in repeating, and pleading for one who has asked for aid? I feel I should ask in His name, believing it will be done.
(A) Ask ONLY in His name, believing, and it SHALL be done! This an outcome, or the result of self's own development, and - as given in the beginning - let NO one come condemning THEMSELVES for that that is within them! but let no one come in arrogance as to that that's necessary for another to reach that SAME attunement! PHYSICALLY, there may be an illustration in this: Attunements on any of the radios may be SOMEWHERE NEAR the same point, but no two will EVER be in exact same ratio! for their POSITIONS alter that, even when sitting side by side! So, individual attuning their soul-consciousness to the divine within must attune according to their OWN development one in another! but CONDEMN NOT, that ye be not condemned! Find GOOD in all! If thou cannot speak well, speak not at all! - and think not at all! for thoughts ARE deeds. As ye act, let that gladness of purpose as may be ONE in all, be that that rules, or is guided by Him that rules. Rule not in the sense that "Here's a line and it must be hewed to, irrespective of consequences or of conditions!" for He is ALSO a God of mercy - MERCY - that makes us ALL akin, in that he that would have mercy shown MUST himself be merciful! (281-3)

9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.1

but remember...

7. As to the interests, things which have to do with improvement of conditions, of environs of peoples, are of special interest to the entity, and thus the entity sees far ahead at times, if it does have the right encouragement. Here is an entity who would be lost without its companion. Hold fast to same. Cherish, love and honor and you will find she will continue to be an inspiration to guide, to direct. Never carry on thy business or thy activities without taking her entirely into thy confidence. For the judgment of two is better than one, and where two agree and they ask, believing it may come to pass.

8. Do not ask for, then, selfish things lest they turn upon thee and destroy thy good purposes. Ask only as the Lord wills.

4. (Q) How may we gain entrance or understanding to this body when she cannot talk with us?
(A) So often is it the lack of comprehension or understanding of individuals! Because the dog doesn't talk, people think he doesn't understand. Because those things in a different vibration are not normal to much that is reacting, it is felt there is not a response.

The VIBRATIONS that are to be set up by the application of the low electrical vibration will create more and more the ability for the SUGGESTIVE forces to reach to the nerves of consciousness in the body itself, see?

As has been given, it will be long, it will be tedious; but, as has been given, this is a duty from those to whom the body has come. If it is held by those who must minister as a cross, it will remain as one. If it is held as that which must be met, that they and the body itself may enjoy in material associations the pleasures of the activity of the spiritual forces, WELL.

The same with individuals where there is in their experience crosses to bear, hardships or surroundings that to them are overpowering, overwhelming, by slights, slurs, and fancies of the inactivity of a coordinating force. If these are held continually as crosses, or as things to be overcome, then they will remain as crosses. But if they are to be met with the spirit of truth and right in their own selves, they should create JOY; for that is what will be built.

For, the Father of light has never failed man that has cried in earnestness unto Him. It is when individuals have desired their own way that the SOULS have suffered in the sons of men.

Follow those suggestions as we have given for this body.

Begin either with the battery activity and then the suggestions, or forget it! (552-2)

    1. 'all prayer is answered'

18. The entity gained in its associations with others; being disappointed only in its closest friend going abroad and not returning. These associations have been again in the present. They will return to the entity in this experience, provided there is kept that balance of purpose in self; not seeking out, but keep that prayer which has been. For all prayer is answered. Don't tell God how to answer it. Make thy wants known to Him. Live as if ye expected them to be answered. For He has given, "What ye ask in my name, believing, that will my Father in heaven give to thee." Again it has been said, and truly, the Father will not withhold any good thing from those who love His coming. (4028-1)

36. (Q) Will the prayer which I have been praying for seven years be answered?
(A) As indicated, all prayers are answered when the individual doesn't tell God just how to answer them. (4028-1)

18. (Q) [683]: To bring a desired THING or CONDITION into manifestation, is it advisable to visualize it by making a PICTURE or just to hold the idea in prayer and let God produce it in His own way without our making a pattern?
(A) The pattern is given thee in the mount. The MOUNT is within thine inner self. To visualize by picturizing is to BECOME idol worshipers. Is this pleasing, with thy conception of thy God that has given, "Have no other gods before me"? The God in self, the God of the universe, then, meets thee in thine inner self. Be patient, and leave it with Him. He knoweth that thou has need of before ye ask. Visualizing is telling Him how it must look when you have received it. Is that thy conception of an All-Wise, All-Merciful Creator? Then, let rather thy service ever be, "Not my will, O God, but Thine be done in me, through me." For all is His. Then, think like it - and, most of all, act like it is. (705-2)

      1. 'may reach to that position as to WHATEVER is desired, so long as the DESIRE is in accord'

18. In the field of the understanding of the magic or mysterious forces, especially as applied to the influences over peoples, and in the APPLICATION of same - whether as to song, music, or of precious stones - even these that have to do with the odors - may the entity gain, conquer self, and develop through these experiences; keeping in that way in which the criterion for the development is made as the ideal; holding that, the entity may reach to that position as to WHATEVER is desired, so long as the DESIRE is in accord with that universal force or development, called - God. Ready for questions. (1714-1)

16. (Q) Should I take a course in journalism and writing?
(A) If so desired. The mind may build whatever is desired to fill the place in the life. Do not try to ride two horses, or hobbies, or positions, in one - for all of self must be put in that as would be accomplished; for this is the law. That as is given and suffered for to attain, one attains - though the world may only see the blossom, but the muck must have been gone through to have attained that blossom. So is life. So is every phase of that that would be accomplished in a physical, a mental, or a spiritual life. Do not think that anyone cuts corners, for sooner or later it must be paid for in the sweat of the brow - either the mental, the physical, or the spiritual brow. (349-6)

      1. In their proper time and place

9. (Q) Why should one develop organic trouble while praying for his fellow man?
(A) A natural consequence of being in organic matter. There are laws in organic influences that are seen through the natural chemical reaction, and those that pertain to the natural forces or environs; for under whatever environ an individual is it is subject to the laws of that!

10. (Q) How does that fit in with the promise of Jesus that whatsoever we desire shall be given to us?
(A) In their proper time, in their proper place. He was not unreasonable. We are! (262-62)

      1. 'a kindness sometimes consists in denying'

5. (Q) Why did [2155] improve so much at first and then go back?
(A) Question not the powers that give or take, for all power is of one source - and He has mercy upon whom He will have mercy. Each as they seek to give the aid, the strength, the power of the Christ Consciousness in the minds and hearts of those who minister with and for the body, gain themselves, add strength and power to those so laboring in body and mind, and aid the consciousness of the body being attempted to be aided - giving more ease, more strength to endure. Be not slothful, nor questioning, nor yet doubting, for "As ye sow, so shall ye reap." Heaven and earth will pass away. HIS power, His word, His promise, endures forever. That that called time seems or appears to be the factor that intervenes should not make anyone weary or tired, for he or she that endures unto the end shall receive that crown, that mark wherein each recognize themselves to be set apart for a purpose in His name. Be faithful - every one! (281-9)

16. And remember, a kindness sometimes consists in denying as well as granting those activities in associations with thy fellow man. As ye do it unto the least of thy brethren, ye do it to thy Maker. (5322-1)
