  1. Edgar Cayce Reading

16. (Q) What present printed version of the Bible gives the nearest to the true meaning of both the new and old Testaments?
(A) The nearest true version for the entity is that ye apply of whatever version ye read, in your life. It isn't that ye learn from anyone. Ye only may have the direction. The learning, the teaching is within self. For where hath He promised to meet thee? Within the temple! Where is that temple? Within! Where is heaven or earth? Within! Meet thy Savior there. For He hath promised, "I stand at the door - open. If ye open, I will enter and sup with thee." Again, "If ye will open I will come in - and I and the Father will abide with thee."

There have been many versions of that which was purposed to have been written, and has been changed from all of those versions - but remember that the whole gospel of Jesus Christ is: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy mind, thy heart and thy body; and thy neighbor as thyself." Do this and thou shalt have eternal life. The rest of the book is trying to describe that. It is the same in any language, in any version. (2072-14)

      1. Exodus
9 And the Lord said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of the people unto the Lord.
10 And the Lord said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes,
11 And be ready against the third day: for the third day the Lord will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.
12 And thou shalt set bounds unto the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount shall be surely put to death:
13 There shall not an hand touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live: when the trumpet soundeth long, they shall come up to the mount.
14 And Moses went down from the mount unto the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.
15 And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: come not at your wives [see: “Be ready by the day after tomorrow and don't have sexual intercourse in the meantime.”].1

      1. Numbers
1 And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.
2 And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.
3 And Israel joined himself unto Baal–peor: and the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel.2

16 Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the Lord in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the Lord.3

      1. Deuteronomy
11 When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets [see: genitals]:
12 Then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her.4

This is because the purifying agent, the kundalini, arise from the leydig cells which are located in the testis.

      1. 1 Samuel
11 Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel.
12 And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul.
13 And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth.
14 And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself.
15 And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.
16 Then said Samuel, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing the Lord is departed from thee, and is become thine enemy?
17 And the Lord hath done to him, as he spake by me: for the Lord hath rent the kingdom out of thine hand, and given it to thy neighbour, even to David:
18 Because thou obeyedst not the voice of the Lord, nor executedst his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore hath the Lord done this thing unto thee this day.
19 Moreover the Lord will also deliver Israel with thee into the hand of the Philistines: and tomorrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: the Lord also shall deliver the host of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.5

In a reading, Edgar Cayce has someting to add. King Saul brought destruction to himself, not only by NOT giving up his will wholly to "the voice of the Lord", but also because of his lasciviousness. This is also what to happens to Israel, when 'the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab' [see: Numbers 25:1].

14. (Q) Now, then, is it possible for an ego itself either receding through what we call Inter-stellar space, or existing on another planet, to so keep in touch or so be aware of little finite details on the earth plane as to guide in detail regarding physical affairs, one whom that ego may choose to guide.
(A) That is correct; this is possible, but the care must be taken by such an one that they be guided in that contact from one receding through stellar space, by the same desire as is made manifest by one so receding, and seeking to aid a loved one, whether psychical character, or of the purport, intent, or friends' character, see? for when one is misdirected, we may find such an example in the seeking of the king to be guided by him, who annoyed him while the desire called up the old man and the answer: "Why Disturbest Thou Me [see: 1 Samuel 28:15], Know Not There Has Already Been Created Through The Lasciviousness of Desire Earthly, in the Activities, that Destruction is Already Before Thee." Study that, see? [Steno didn't get the name.]

15. (Q) Is that the name of the one speaking?
(A) That the one spoken of. That entity rests in the bosom of Abraham. (136-83)

      1. Matthew
11 But he [see: Jesus the Christ] said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.
12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.6

      1. Matthew
23 The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
24 Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
27 And last of all the woman died also.
28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.7

      1. 1 Corinthians
1 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
3 Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. [see: A man should fulfill his duty as a husband, and a woman should fulfill her duty as a wife, and each should satisfy the other's needs.]
4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
5 Defraud ye not [see: Do not deny] one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency [see: lack of self-control].
6 But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.
7 For I would that all men were even as I [see: Saul of Tarsus/Paul the Apostle] myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.
8 I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I.
9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.8

      1. 1 John
7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed [see: σπέρμα [Greek] transliterates to sperm] remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.9
